Favorite Things

Lucy is becoming a very busy toddler. She loves to do many things. One of her favorite things to do right now is to sort and dump. She takes things out of something one by one or dumps them out, and then puts them back in again. She is also very happy with a pile of junk mail. When her daddy gets home from work, he sorts through all of the mail and whatever goes into the recycling bin gets put on the floor for Lucy. She loves to just look at all of it and move it around from place to place. Her stuffed animals are becoming another favorite. She likes to get up on the couch and point to all of her animals down on the other side, so I can get them for her. Then she spends some time walking from one side to the other on the couch and climbing over all of the cushions. She has always enjoyed "riding the horsey" and now the horse can buck a little bit faster and higher, which always puts a smile on Lucy's face. And of course, she loves books. I enjoy watching her flip through the pages and sometimes listen to her babble along like she is really reading the book. And every now and then a character on the page gets a kiss. (I was trying to capture that on the last picture, but missed it.)

Lucy is also taking some steps. She is becoming more confident everyday with taking a few steps by herself. Our den is set up like a pond with "lilly pads" scattered through out. So Lucy will walk between the different obstacles. I guess we should spread them out farther so she has a little more distance to cover.
